━ Stephen Lee Richardson

Landscape Architect

Mr. Richardson is a Licensed Landscape Architect with 30 year career of comprehensive design practice, including owning design firm for 20 years and direct experience in the following areas of practice: Corporate Campus, office, hospitality and resort, retail, multi-family, community design, institutional/educational, and residential. His strengths include:

  • Developing large, complex designs from conceptualization through construction process

  • Visualizing and developing three dimensional understanding of sites, particularly with respect to topographic design and constructability

  • Strong expertise in site design based on topographic conditions

  •  Coordinating well with other design consultants and disciplines – architects, engineers, etc. in achieving project synthesis

  • Developing design teams for clients, including recruitment and management

  • Understanding the big picture: exceeding client’s goals by considering larger issues with respect site development, such as re-directing project type based on site conditions, economic returns and political and community acceptance

  • Developing construction budgets during early planning stages, and developing design drawings that meet budget requirements.

  • Due to national practice, working in varied environmental conditions, from subtropical to northern states, including temperature, plants, and soil types

  • Developing strong, detailed sets of construction documents that prevent unnecessary change orders during construction implementation on large projects.

  • Designing passive / natural design processes in lieu of engineering solutions to storm water management, thus saving money and providing more aesthetic solutions

  •  Business development, office management of design firm up to twelve employees
